[Bandung, 13/11/2017] Padjadjaran University has committed continue to support the development of Geopark Nasional Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu (GNCP). This time, through the Faculty of Law, Universitas Padjadjaran tries to make a study for the Legal Aspects of GNCP Management. On 13 November 2017 at the UNPAD Training Center Hotel as a first step, the Faculty of Law has organized a Focused Group Discussion (FGD) to find out the problems in GNCP such as mining permits, environmental regulations, land disputes, commensurate beaches, etc. which is sourced from several agencies concerned.
“Many parties who active role in the management of GNCP, from the Provincial and District Governments have established the GNCP Management, but for the management of the geosite GNCP there is a need for BUMDES regulation if managed by the Village Management and the need for a Cooperation Agreement with a detail of land owner because the Cooperation Agreement with the owner the land is still unclear”, said Asep from the Tourism Office of Sukabumi Regency. Muhsin from the PESDM Office of Sukabumi District said that “there are illegal mining in the GNCP Area”. GNCP has unique rocks and is rarely found elsewhere, therefore Prof. Mega Rosana want these rocks to be corservation with the Geological Nature Reserves concept.
Legal studies will make by the Faculty of Law is intended to be the basis of the establishment of a legal rule to be determined by the Government, so there is certainty in the management and sustainable development plan in accordance with the vision and mission of GNCP.
